FOOD AND FARMING IN THE NEWS

The US President Donald Trump's state visit to the UK earlier this month provided an opportunity for the NFU President Minette Batters to raise concerns about the potential consequences on UK food standards of a future trade deal with the US. She highlighted that the deal could allow food into this country which would be illegal for UK farmers to produce here.


This month the Committee on Climate Change recommended the UK reach net-zero by 2050. The NFU President was interviewed on BBC Radio 4's World at One and the consumer affairs programme You & Yours to emphasise the role British farmers would play to reach that goal.
