NFU leads the conversation about mental health in farming

Following an HSE report that identified stress, depression and anxiety as leading causes of work-related ill health, the NFU is urging the farming industry to reverse the stigma around mental health - NFU Vice President, Stuart Roberts, shares what the NFU and Farm Safety Partnership are doing to bring about change.

On 5 July 2016, dairy-farmer’s daughter, mum and primary school teacher Emma Picton-Jones became a widow at 27 when her husband committed suicide - Emma shares her story and tells us what she is doing to tackle poor mental health in farming.

World Mental Health Day: To mark World Mental Health Day on 10 October, the NFU highlighted HSE statistics that show mental health issues are a leading cause of work-related ill health and caught up with NFU member, Olly Harrison, for an update on the work he is doing to get people talking about their mental wellbeing.

A young child died this month on a farm in Wales after being hit by a vehicle - read more and refresh your memory on the guidance around keeping children safe on farm.
